Couch to 5K

So this week I started the Couch to 5K program.  The first week is really easy, it's the weeks after that are going to kick my butt.  I've never been good at running, even when I was fit it wasn't because of running.  I would spend an hour or more on the elliptical every day, free weights, and I walked 2 miles to and from work almost everyday.  I realize now that when I was a Freshman and Sophomore in college, I was pretty active and I definitely didn't eat out as much as we have now.  But thankfully we aren't going on a diet.  We are just changing our eating habits for good.  Friday night is cheat night, and we can go out of dinner.  The rest of the week however we eat at home, and we have a vegetable with every meal.  We only eat pasta once a week, and every day I eat a great breakfast.

Since the weather is finally starting to cool down I actually enjoy going outside for a little jog with Brynlee again, so it's been a lot easier to incorporate exercise into my routine.  I'm also putting my gym membership back into good use for something other then tanning.

I made a little monthly exercise chart with fun little stickers.  When I stick it out for the month I can get myself a new dress.

Fun stuff!

  1. I don't know if you remember me...I'm Lindsey's friend, BreeAnn. I gave you the formula for your little girl (which btw, I think she is absolutely adorable!) I kind of stumbled across your blog and have been following it for a month or so and I just love all of your little crafts and style. I just wanted to thank you for posting this! I have been trying to get into running myself and I get so tired and frustrated with it because I HATE running. But this program seems like a good way to simplify my goals and I really feel that I can build up my endurance using it. Anyways, I hope you don't mind that I've been "blog stocking" you. ;)

  2. That's totally fine! I blog stalk to ;) And thank you again for all that formula! It's nice having like a little stock pile of it. I definitely recommend this program. I've known a few people who have done it and they have said that if you follow it completely how it's laid out, running will become a lot easier. Good luck!
